Internships

Internships are a valuable learning experience that help students gain skills in their field, begin creating a network of contacts and often lead to job offers.  All students are encouraged to consider the internship option.  Career Resources works closely with each student to tailor the internship to their goals and objectives.

To learn about our internship program, please review our student copy of the internship packet. The packet can be accessed on the DWCareers site; once logged into the site, click on the icon labeled "resumes & resources". You will then click the tab titled "helpful career information".

There are several ways in which opportunities are found:

1.  Listings:  Several employers contact us directly with a need they have for an intern. These listings are posted on www.DWCareers.com.

2.  Student driven:  If a student has a desire to intern at a specific host site, come talk with us.  We can examine the possibility and talk with the site to see if the site has an opportunity available and are willing to mentor a student.

3.  History:  We have established relationships with many host sites. While the sites may not have an active, specific listing, they have a standing relationship with the office and are willing to try to accommodate a request.  These companies have literature in the internship file cabinet in the career resources office.

For current internship opportunities or information, please contact your faculty advisor or Kimberly Hare in the Center for Career Development at (603) 577-6585 or CareerResources@dwc.edu.
