I have never taken classes at DWC
before? How do I sign up?
Applying to DWC and
registering for a class is very easy. Simply fill out a short
application form (no application fee), parking permit form, and a
student ID form. Then complete a registration form each term you
wish to take classes. Students may complete an application on-line,
by mail or in person. Student IDs and parking permits need to be
arranged in person at the Office of Continuing Studies. Students may
register for a course by phone, by mail, by fax, or via the web.
Students can register for classes up until the day class begins, but
you should sign up as early as possible to reserve your space in the
class. Payment is due by the first class. For students receiving
tuition reimbursement, delayed payment plans may be arranged.

Does Daniel Webster College award
credit for prior learning?
Students at Daniel Webster
College who believe they have mastered the content for a required
course may petition to satisfy course requirements and receive
academic credit by passing an examination produced by college
faculty. Students may also put together a portfolio assessment that
demonstrates prior learning in the areas of professional training
and personal experience. The college will award up to 30 credits for
prior learning.

How can I use my previous college
courses at this school? Some of these courses I took 15 years ago!
The major that you choose
may be a factor when considering the number of credits you have to
transfer. For example, the curriculum of a course in English
Composition or Principles of Management has not drastically changed
in the last 15 years. Credit for those courses should transfer if
your grade was a C or better. On the other hand, if you have lots of
dated computer programming courses, you may want to look at one of
our EXCEL Bachelor degree completion programs. The number of general
electives ranges from 37 to 45 depending on the major. There is,
obviously, much more flexibility when you choose a major with a
larger number of general electives. The best way to make these
evaluations is to set up an individual appointment with a GCDE
advisor.

Can I take just one course in
Continuing Studies without declaring a major?
Yes. A student may apply as
a Course Work Only (CWON) student. The student may then register for
any course(s) they wish. The student is encouraged to take
identified prerequisites into consideration when registering for a
course.

Does DWC offer online courses?
Yes. DWC does offer a
variety of online courses. In fact, students may choose from courses
that are offered completely online or a hybrid version, which are
held 50% in the classroom and 50% online. Please refer to the online
section or the hybrid section of the course schedules to learn which
courses are offered in these formats.
