Technology on Campus
Daniel Webster College is committed to supporting technology on campus. The following
technology is available for student and faculty use on campus.
Wireless Networking During the summer
of 2006 DWC installed HP ProCurve wireless networking that is available across
the entire campus.
Computer Labs The college has 110 computers available for classroom and general purpose use.
Special Labs by discipline The college has 19 computers dedicated to discipline-specific use within the divisions.
Instructional Technology In addition,
all classrooms are setup with a permanent instructor PC, DVD/VHS player
connected to an LCD projector.
Access for Laptops
and PDAs - Wireless access is available across the entire campus. The
DWC wireless network supports 802.11a/g.
Software - All the
classroom and lab computers run Windows XP and Microsoft Office products.
Eaton-Richmond Center
ER107 - Open Lab. This lab contains 12 computers that are always available any time the Computer Center is open for students to use for general purpose.
ER108 - Classroom. This lab contains 20 computers plus an instructor station.
Dell Dimension 9150, Dual Core, 2GB SDRAM, 160 GB hard drive and 19" LCD flat
panel display.
ER109 - Classroom. This lab contains 20 computers plus an instructor station.
Dell Dimension 9150, Dual Core, 2GB SDRAM, 160 GB hard drive and 19" LCD flat
panel display.
ER117 - Software Engineering Lab. This lab contains 14 computers plus
an instructor station teacher workstations. Dell
Dimension 9150, Dual Core, 2GB SDRAM, 160 GB hard drive
and 19" LCD flat panel display.
Special Labs by discipline
Writing Center - This lab contains 2 computers dedicated for the Writing Center Director to work with students in developing writing skills.
Engineering Lab - This lab contains 15 computers
plus the teacher work station. This lab is dedicated for engineering students.
MultiMedia Lab -
The Multimedia Lab,
located on the first floor of Baddour Library, offers two high end IBM digital
video workstations complete with Adobe Premiere, a non-linear editing software
program. Faculty are encouraged to use the lab to create videos for delivery via
DVD, VHS, cd-rom, or in a variety of digital file formats such as avi, and mov.
Software - All computers in the labs have a minimum configuration of the following. Faculty and students may request additional software for class purposes that is not listed here.
