SCOPE: For centuries art has been a creation of man that has influenced the way we perceive the concept of beauty. Whether it is a painting, drawing, sculpture, or building, art has become an inherent part of our world. As far as the appreciation of a particular piece of artwork is concerned, most of us adhere to the concept of beauty is in the eye of the beholder. However, there are resources that provide background information that will help us discern the value of a work of art. The purpose of this pathfinder is to serve as a guideline for the student in locating resources in the subject area of art & architecture, which will provide and in-depth analysis of this topic.
There are sources located in the Reference Section of the Baddour Library that give a general overview or summary of the topic you are researching. The following is a list of some of the sources available in the library.

Digital Imaging Project http://www.bluffton.edu/~sullivanm/ Easy to navigate, this site provides information on European and North American architecture. There is an index of artists and architects as well as a chronological listing. The index of art historical sites is an interesting feature.
