Scope: Paul Cezanne was a French impressionist painter noted for his still life, portraits, and landscapes. His earlier works were erotic and sensual, but his later period reflected a complete turnaround in style. The countryside of his native Aix-en-Provence became an inspiration for his work. Cezanne placed much emphasis on color, light, and shade.
