SCOPE:  Cults engage in psychological manipulation, which includes coercive persuasion and brainwashing. The driving force behind cults is to gain new followers, power, and wealth. The purpose of this pathfinder is to serve as a guideline for students in locating library resources on the topic of cults. It is not intended as a comprehensive listing, but as a selective sampling of the many types of resources available in the library.
