Pathfinder: Date Rape

Scope|Subject Headings|Overview Sources|Circulating Books|Periodicals, Journals & Trade Publications|Web Sites

SCOPE: Date rape or acquaintance rape by someone a woman knows is on the rise on college campuses.  Alcohol and drugs are often attributed to the problem.  The biggest factors in acquaintance rape are lack of understanding between the sexes, failure to respect the person one is with, and unwillingness to accept responsibility for ones actions. (Westheimer, Encyclopedia of Sex) The purpose of this pathfinder is to serve as a guideline in locating library resources on the topic of date rape. It is not intended as a comprehensive listing, but as a selective sampling of some of the materials available in the library.
