Scope: John Dos Passos was a prolific writer of novels, poems, plays, and non-fiction writing. He was referred to as a critic of 20th century America and called
himself "architect of history." The theme of individual freedom permeates his works. Three Soldiers, Manhattan Transfer, and the U.S.A. Trilogy are his most notable works.
