Scope: Marcel Duchamp was a French artist born in Blainville, Normandy in 1887. He had an avid interest in optics and cinematic techniques. His “ready-mades” were found objects that were elevated to the status of art. Duchamp was considered the pioneer of conception art as well as one of the greatest innovators of art in the 20th century.
