The bulletin board outside of Baddour
Library is available to the DWC community to announce events, notices,
items for sale, rides needed, etc. Please use it as a means to get the

A new scanner has been
added to the public computers on the upper level of the Library. This
new addition provides more equipment availability for scanning photos,

of this true account of the tragedy of the whale ship Essex (upon which
Herman Melville based his classic Moby Dick). This spring, the Nashua
Public Library and local bookstores will host book discussions and

Finding Funding
Faculty and staff interested in researching project or grant funding can
now access the Foundation Directory online. This resource requires a
username and password to login. Please contact the Library at 577-6559
or librarian@dwc.edu for this information. To connect to the Foundation
Directory go to the Library’s homepage at:
www.dwc.edu/library and
select from the window beside “use online resources” the Foundation
Directory. Or go directly to their website at:
fconline.fdncenter.org.
Access permits just one user at a time, so please logout when you are
finished using the Foundation Directory online.
Copyright Compliance, Fair Use, and
The TEACH Act
Daniel Webster College and Baddour Library have formally adopted this
copyright policy that brings us into compliance with US Copyright Law
and the TEACH Act. The Technology, Education and Copyright Harmonization
Act enables the College to digitize materials used in face-to-face
classes for the online learning environment as long as access is
protected/restricted to course registrants. Library and ITS staff worked
together to fulfill TEACH Act requirements. The policy can be accessed

Library Survey Results
Thanks to all of you who filled out the library survey last spring, and
to Dr. Tom Anastasi who crunched the numbers. The response rate was
unexpectedly high. Customer service, knowledge, and helpfulness had a
satisfaction rating of 98.4% across demographics. Recommendations for
improvement included:
• Library hours need to be expanded
• The importance of the library as a quiet place for study
