SCOPE: The purpose of this pathfinder is to serve as a guideline for the student in locating library resources on the topic of mathematics. It is not intended as a comprehensive listing of all the materials in the library, but as a selective sampling of some of the many sources that are available in the library. Subjects included are algebra, geometry, calculus, and trigonometry.
SUBJECT HEADINGS
Books dealing with mathematics are listed in the Baddour Library's on-line catalog under the following subject headings:
Mathematics Algebra Arithmetic Geometry Numerals Logic, Symbolic and Mathematical Probabilities Set theory Statics Trigonometry
There are sources located in the Reference Section of the Baddour Library that give a general overview or summary of the topic you are researching. The following is a list of some of the sources available in the library.

Journal of Online Mathematics and its
Applications
http://mathdl.maa.org/mathDL/4/
Published by The Mathematical Association of America,
the Journal of Online Mathematics covers such topics as
number theory, and algebra. Issues contain research on
student learning through online materials and
“class-tested and web-based learning materials.”
Math Archives http://archives.math.utk.edu/ From the University of Tennessee, this excellent website is organized into major subject areas including algebra, applied mathematics, calculus, computers, etc. Each site features a code describing the academic level of the website, which is very helpful for students.
The Mathematical Atlas: A Gateway to Modern Mathematics http://www.math-atlas.org/welcome.html A laymans guide to topics in mathematics from the Northern Illinois University. The website states that its primary purpose is to provide an introduction to the area of modern mathematics. There are links to 70 different topics as well as a mathematical dictionary. This site should prove to be very useful for the student who is looking for background information and helpful hints.
