SCOPE: Euthanasia is a term, which has been interpreted as either mercy killing or assisted suicide. It implies a “good death” whereby medical intervention is used when a patient is suffering from intolerable pain and from a terminal illness. (Palmisano, World of Sociology) Supporters firmly believe that this the most humane form of treatment a patient can receive under such dire circumstances. The purpose of this pathfinder is to serve as a guideline for student research. It is not intended as a comprehensive listing of all the resources available in the library on this topic, but as a selective sampling of the many types of resources available.
