Scope: Edward Arlington Robinson was a New England writer born in Headtide, Maine on December 22, 1869. Two of his poems published in the 1920s entitled The Man who Died Twice and Tristram were awarded Pulitzer Prizes. Robinsons’ poetry was traditional in style featuring blank verse and English sonnet form. His subject matter covered controversial topics such as suicide, prostitution, and euthanasia.
