SCOPE: August Strindberg was a short story writer, novelist, and essayist born in Sweden. Strindberg was influenced by the psychological theories of Sigmund Freud and incorporated his theories in his works. In the early 1900’s Strindberg began experimenting with different forms of theater and introduced chamber music as well as secondary characters to his plays. These techniques are used in play productions today, and for that reason Strindberg is considered to be very influential
