Residence Life at DWC

Student Life Brochure

The residence halls at Daniel Webster College offer students a variety of living styles, options and alternatives. More than just a place to live, they provide the opportunity for community living based upon a student development philosophy of mutual respect for individual rights and growth of students into young professionals. The residence halls offer a special environment encouraging autonomy, mature interpersonal relationships, and the privileges of residing on campus.

In the four traditional halls, students find mostly double occupancy rooms, with a limited number of single and triple rooms available. Each room comes complete with cable TV access, a telephone/ voice mail system, and computer access. Each hall has coin operated laundry facilities and most have lounges equipped with TV and VCRs.  Some halls have common area kitchens.

There are two non-traditional living options available.  First, the Townhouses each house four upper-class students and provide a two-story living environment complete with two bedrooms, one and one-half baths, a living room and a kitchen.   Baddour Hall is our newest residence hall, is considered a non-traditional hall because it provides students with a variety of living options, from traditional single, double, and triple rooms to upper-class suites which house from four to seven students.  Each suite provides residents with a living room, kitchen area, and bathroom.  Baddour contains a lounge on each floor, a kitchen, study rooms, bike storage rooms, and a laundry room.

The placement of students living in the residence halls is structured to ensure a balance between the benefit of the whole community and the particular wants and needs of the individuals.  New students fill out a roommate placement questionnaire describing their living habits and interests, which helps the Residence Life staff to match roommates.  Upper-class students participate in a housing lottery in the spring; lottery numbers are based upon cumulative grade point average.

For any student who does not live within commuting distance to Daniel Webster College, there is a  residency requirement.  For those students pursuing an associate degree, there is one-year requirement. For those seeking a bachelor's degree, the requirement is two years.
