Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics:  3,000-4,000 word personal essay on suggested topics.  First prize:  $5,000.  Second prize:  $2,500.  Third prize:  $1,500.

PUBLISHED STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND STAFF

Erin Donovan (junior) and Andrew Kakos (freshman) have recently had two articles accepted for publication.  Andy published a letter-to-the-editor in The Mason Grapevine; Erin published an article, "Bombs Away," in the November 2003 Parachutist.  Aviation professor Thomas Teller had two articles recently published in The Atlantic Coastal Kayaker, "Expedition Skills & Safety: Operational Planning & Decision Making" and "Expedition Health and Medical Planning."  Their work can be found on the Writing Center bulletin board in the hallway to the Writing Center.  Congrats to Erin, Andy, and Prof. Tom Teller!

HELP WITH SCHOLARSHIP ESSAYS

DWC students interested in obtaining additional financial aid should find applicable scholarship possibilities at the Financial Aid office and seek writing assistance on the applications at the Writing Center.
