SUCCESS STORIES
Aviation Management
Bryan Predmore '09

Bryan Predmore ’09 is a student at Daniel Webster College majoring in Aviation Management. Bryan from Granby, CT decided to attend DWC because of its aviation opportunities.

The size of the school was another appealing factor. Bryan commented, “The professors take time to get to know you, and your needs. They are always willing to go over material and help as much as possible.” Not being a number in the crowd is very important to him.

Bryan is active within the DWC community. Recently, Bryan became a Resident Assistant (RA) Alternate for the 2007-08 school year. He is also the founder and president of the DWC Bike Club. A friend to almost everyone on campus, he is always ready to lighten the classroom mood. Though he does not participate in any of the athletics on campus, you will often find him cheering at any sports event.

For Bryan, everyday is full of classes and work. A typical day includes attending his Aircraft Operating Economics class with Professor Tom Kubishta, who is also a part time flight instructor. Here he will learn about the aspects of buying and selling aircraft and how to run a business. Next is Airport Operations Management with Professor Royce Rankin. Mr. Rankin is also the Manager of the Nashua Airport. Students get information about how an airport is run, and a first hand experience with Nashua’s manager. “It’s interesting to learn about how the Nashua Airport runs and how much goes into it.” Bryan will wrap up the day with Aviation Law, a class in which students learn about all aspects of laws and regulations, and how it applies to aviation.

Bryan spends the majority of his week working as a dispatcher at East Coast Aero Club, a fixed base operator on the Boire field. This is a great job opportunity because Bryan is able to get first hand experience in an aviation management position.

After work, Bryan will come back to campus to attend his general education classes. These include Humanities and Public Speaking. After such busy days, Bryan likes to go to the Vagge Gymnasium to use the exercise equipment. Then he heads back to his room in Lincoln Hall to finish up homework. According to Bryan, “The classes I take and my work experience prepare me for real world aviation management.”

Originally an Aviation Flight Operation major, Bryan earned his Private Pilot’s license through Daniel Webster College. He still continues his flight training through his work place. Currently he is working towards his instrument rating.

Bryan also chooses to stay for the summer sessions. He feels this gives him an extra advantage in his academics and his flight lessons. He stated, “You have to work hard at DWC. It is not easy, but if you are able to make it, then every frustration is completely worth it. All aviation opportunities open for you.”
