SUCCESS STORIES
Aeronautical Engineering
Jon Lang '08

“Don’t take these years for granted” a bit of wisdom that Jon Lang of Piermont, NH has been thriving on these past three years of college. Jon Lang is a typical DWC engineering student with a hefty course load.

From Calculus Three to his Thermodynamics, Jon Lang has shown incredible resilience and dedication when it comes down to getting school work done. A typical day for Jon is just like anyone else’s. He goes to class, gets good grades, comes home and relaxes. However, when ever the heat is on, and Jon needs to get work done in the engineering lab, he will spend upwards of five hours with his group, motivating and leading his group members in hope for a smooth lab session without any mistakes or bumps in the road.

“Sure college life can be trying at times,” Jon states, “but the experiences we have in the engineering lab and experiences around campus are good as gold. Knowing that I can overcome obstacles like a five hour lab period enriches me with knowledge and perseverance. If I can outlast long hours in that lab, I know that I can overcome anything that will try to hinder my performance in the years to come.”

Not only does Jon work hard in the classroom, but he also works hard on the soccer field. Jon has been on the soccer team for two years now, and he thinks it’s a great experience to work with a team to strive to reach a common goal.

Jon will be a graduate of Daniel Webster College in the spring of 2008. Upon graduating, he wishes to work for a company called Insight Technologies located out of Londonderry, NH. At Insight Technologies he hopes to make fiber optic scopes and sights for military aircraft, and military weapons.

Lastly, I asked Jon if he were to go through college all over again and start anew, what would he change? He replied, “Nothing at all. The friends I have made, and the valuable experience I have obtained from attending DWC is priceless, and I would never trade or give them away for anything.”
