SUCCESS STORIES
Psychology
Matthew Annis

Matthew Annis started his Webster career as a flight operation’s major, with childhood ambitions to be an Air Force pilot. His desire changed during his sophomore year when he discovered the captivating field of psychology. After getting his associates in flight operations, Matthew Annis changed his major to psychology, a new and exciting program recently offered at Daniel Webster.

Although the program hasn’t been fully completed yet, Matt already sees the potential in the program building. “There’s a great student to professor relationship, and this isn’t simply due to the small private school environment,” says Matt. “What’s great is that the teachers not only care about how we’re doing in our classes, but also what are intentions are throughout our careers beyond Webster.” Unlike most psychology programs, Daniel Webster College requires a senior thesis or internship before completing the program. This gears the student towards jumping right into a graduate program after completing their 4 years at Webster.

Through his involvement with the Arnold Air Society, Matt has given quite a bit to the community. Arnold Air Society is an affiliate of Air Force ROTC that focuses on giving to the local communities while building a strong foundation for civilian leadership and teamwork. With his immersion with Arnold Air, Matt gives a large portion of his time to the surrounding communities. Matt has worked extensively with local charities, and has selflessly helped people in need. He donates his time and energy in assisting the Arnold Air’s 50/50 raffle, in which 50 percent of the proceedings go to local charity organizations.

In the future Matthew hopes to pursue a career in psycho analysis. After obtaining a bachelors degree in psychology, he intends on furthering his education with graduate school, aiming for his master’s in psychology. Matthew Annis is a model student who is not afraid of the hard work of his field and willingly donates to the community. Matt feels that the degree he will obtain from Daniel Webster College combined with the experiences he has had with the community will make him extremely successful in his future career.
