Daniel Webster College

ACE Camp - a day in the life of a camper

Get Ready to Fly

The college's aviation facilities are located at the Tamposi Aviation Center at the Nashua Municipal Airport, just a five minute walk from the residence halls on the main campus where you will be living.  The Aviation Center houses a flight operations center, classrooms, and separate flight and air traffic control simulation laboratories. The college's fleet of 31 aircraft includes Cessna 172s and Piper Arrows, Seminoles, and GROB G-109B motor gliders. Campers primarily fly in the Cessna 172s.

Your days will be filled with...
Activities that are non-stop! You'll have five days of fun and excitement, with activities such as:

  • Flight time at the controls of our aircraft, under the close supervision of one of our professional flight instructors. Our goal is to provide each student with as many as three flights - weather permitting.
  • "Flying" our advanced flight simulators.
  • Numerous opportunities to experience valuable leadership and teamwork sessions and activities that will help you better understand the skills you'll need for a successful aviation career.
  • Exposure to all of the career opportunities that are available in the aviation industry, including air traffic control, airport management, airline operations, etc.
  • Discussions with numerous pilots with a variety of aviation backgrounds, both military and commercial (major airlines, commuter airlines, corporate pilots, instructors, etc.).
  • Visits to area airports, including military and commercial facilities, a heliport, control towers, and other aviation facilities.
  • Special guest speakers. At past ACE Camps, speakers have included FAA security, the chief of maintenance from United Airlines, the Operations Manager from Southwest Airlines, meteorologists, and more!
  • Movies, volleyball, pick-up basketball, creative drill, and swimming, plus an awards ceremony and picnic for parents and students on the last day of camp.
