Aviation Facilities
Welcome to the
Nicholas N. Tamposi Aviation Center... location of Daniel Webster College's
Aviation & Flight Training Center. Each day students of Daniel Webster
College's distinguished programs in Flight Operations, Air Traffic Control,
and Aviation Management pass through this award-winning facility in
preparation for classes, labs, and flights utilizing all the excellent
resources Daniel Webster College has to offer.
Only a
five-minute walk from the main Daniel Webster College campus, the Aviation
Center not only contains the offices of flight instructors & faculty,
but also flight dispatch, weather and preflight planning, the Flight
Simulation lab, and is adjacent to the CTI-certified Air Traffic Control simulation lab
and Daniel Webster College Hangar facility.
The Nicholas N.
Tamposi Aviation Center is also located at Boire Field in Nashua, NH...
determined to be the second busiest General Aviation airport in the
Northeast. The airport features a 5500' paved runway with full instrument
approaches, and is controlled by an FAA contract Class D Control Tower.
Operations at the airport are challenging due to the traffic using the
airport, which allows students to become very comfortable with busy airspace
in a short amount of time.
This does not
mean, however, that all the airspace around Nashua is challenging. Daniel
Webster College flight students practice maneuvers over the uncontested
meadows and pine forests to the West of Nashua... framed by the picturesque
White Mountains. Only at Daniel Webster College will you find such a diverse
environment in which to fly. Within one flight hour, students can experience
all classifications of FAA airspace as Boston, MA and Manchester, NH, a
Class B and Class C respectively, are only a short distance away. Students
can also look forward to a challenging and diverse flight environment as the
Atlantic Coast and the mountain ranges of Northern New Hampshire are only
minutes away.
At Daniel
Webster College, you will find your gateway to a future in aviation... open
the door to the challenge of flight! |
