The Nicholas N. Tamposi Aviation Center at Daniel Webster College

The focal point for all DWC flight operations is the Nicholas N. Tamposi Aviation Center, located parallel to the 5500' runway of Boire Field in Nashua, NH. Built in 1977, the Aviation Center has been the location of the world-renowned Daniel Webster College Aviation Program since. In December of 1994, the Nicholas N. Tamposi Aviation Center was rededicated after a $1.6 million expansion project, taking the Aviation Center from 5,100 square feet to 14,000 square feet. It now has a host of unique features such as integrated support for the Flight Simulator and Air Traffic Control Simulations Labs, multimedia supported class and seminar rooms, and internal networking for computer support.

The Aviation Center at Daniel Webster College was dedicated to Nicholas N. Tamposi, a local Nashua aviator who greatly contributed to the aviation community in Nashua in his lifetime. A plaque in the flight center reads:

"Dedicated to Nicholas N. Tamposi, Captain, Pan American World Airways, 1917-1975. This distinguished aviator, native of this city, soloed at this airfield. He went on to pioneer numerous air routes around the world. He commanded Pan American's inaugural to Bucharest, Romania, the home land of his parents. He also was a member of the flight crew that inaugurated commercial service to Moscow, USSR.

Dedicated on October 23, 1977 by the trustees of New England Aeronautical Institute -- Daniel Webster College."
