DWC Leadership Initiative
Leadership
is the ability to lead, not rule. It involves a creative vision, the
cognitive ability to make sound decisions, moral and ethical values while
using power and influence effectively, and the ability to organize and
motivate a team of qualified individuals. Let Daniel Webster College help
you develop your skills and lead you to a more effective style of management
Daniel Webster College in
partnership with the Collings Foundation, is proud to introduce the Daniel
Webster College Leadership Initiative.
This innovative program
recognizes that true leaders don't just happen -- they are intrinsically
shaped -- through learning, experiential development, and interaction with
others. Through the initiative, Daniel Webster is committed to enhancing
leadership development by incorporating a three-level strategy specifically
designed for CEO's, professionals, and undergraduate students.
The CEO Forum helps executives
enhance their leadership skills by networking and sharing different
perspectives. BM322, a six-credit Executive Leadership course, provides
experiential leadership development tailored to both continuing education
professionals and traditional undergraduate students. And the Guest Lecture
Series provides all participants, as well as the general public, with the
opportunity to interact with nationally recognized leaders in small and
large group settings.
Previous speakers have included Apollo
8 Commander and former Eastern Airlines CEO Frank Borman, Senator (and
former actor) Fred Thompson (R-TN), Gene Kranz, Lead Flight Director of
Mission Control for Apollo 13, and Ken Olsen, founder and CEO of Digital
Equipment Corp. Other national leaders who have participated in events on
campus include Ted Koppel, of ABC News, and presidential hopefuls Bill
Bradley, Senator John McCain and Vice President Al Gore.
