Aviation Management
Bachelor of Science
The
Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management is perfect for students
who want to combine a love of aviation with a career in management. Students
in this degree program develop solid business and management skills, then
add the specialized knowledge from one of three areas of interest: general
and corporate aviation management, airline operations, or airport
management. This dual-discipline degree is offered through Daniel Webster's
Aviation Division.
All Aviation Management majors must complete the
aviation core courses. In addition, each student will select a track that
consists of 12 credits of course work that prepares them for entry into a
particular segment of the aviation industry and a 3 credit culminating
experience. The culminating experience is a course or internship designed
to: expose them to problems and situations that will be intellectually
stimulating; require them to apply their knowledge, values, skills, and
technical competence to current problems in the aviation industry; enable
them to start developing a network of contacts within the industry; and
provide feedback to the aviation division on how well the program goals are
being achieved.
Each of the options is designed to provide the student insights and problem
solving skills that are unique to the particular segment of the aviation
industry. The tracks that are available and the courses that qualify as
culminating experiences are listed at the end of the curriculum.
