As students begin the application process, there are a few
things they will need to prepare. This section will help
you and them assess their readiness and guide you both in assembling
materials.
Application
Students will need to fill out a Daniel Webster College
Application for Admission either online or the paper
application. Send this in with the application fee
of $35.00 and
remember to have all signatures applied to the
application.
You can find the application material for both the
online and written applications on our
Application
Page.
High School Transcripts
We will need an official High School Transcript sent
directly from the Guidance Office. High school programs
and grading systems vary widely; we look beyond the
class rank. We pay close attention to the types and
levels of courses taken and the grades achieved,
particularly as they relate to your students educational
interests and the availability of courses at your high
school.
SAT or ACT Scores
An
official copy of a students SAT or ACT scores must be sent directly from
the students high school Guidance Office, or directly from the testing
agency. Though SAT's and ACT scores are not solely what the
Admissions Committee looks at, they are required for admission.
Personal Essay
An essay of your students choice that highlights his or
her writing and
comprehensive abilities allows us a deeper insight into
his or her abilities as a student on a more personal level,
but is not required to complete your application.
Recommendations
Recommendations from guidance counselors, headmasters,
and teachers, considered in concert with your students classroom
performance, give us a more subjective evaluation of his
or hers work. They provide a perspective that may not be
evident from mere grades and scores, but are not required to complete your
application.
Pre-College Credit
If your student has pursued studies at an accredited college or
university during his or her high school years, the
Registrar’s Office will evaluate their credentials on the
same basis as those of transfer students. To be
eligible, the courses must be graded in direct
competition with regularly matriculated undergraduates
at that college; and they must be part of the normal
curriculum published in the institution's catalog. If
your student is enrolled in AP courses and takes an AP exam
they must score a 3 or higher for it to be considered for
college credit.
When
the application is complete, the file will be
reviewed by the Admissions Committee and a response to
your students status will be mailed to them directly. |
