Work Study Program

Federal Work Study Program

The Federal Work Study Program (FWS) is designed to create part-time employment opportunities for students. The program is intended to be beneficial to both the student and employer. All students that qualify for need-based financial assistance are considered. Work study jobs are not guaranteed.

Most employment opportunities under this program are on campus, working for the college. Available jobs are listed on the DWCareers.com website. The Federal Work Study Placement Form authorizes you to earn a specific dollar amount and once you are selected for a job, it is up to you and your supervisor to design a work schedule that fits within your allocation.

There is a wide range of positions available under the program. This year they included tutoring, student ambassadors, gym/weight room monitors, computer operations assistants, flight line crew, flight dispatchers, clerical and assistant positions in a variety of departments, custodial assistants and maintenance helpers.

Employed students are paid on a bi-weekly basis for the hours worked during the previous two weeks. Students in the program typically work 8-10 hours per week.
