About Aviation
Flight Operations at DWC
The Aviation Flight
Operations program provides a solid
educational foundation with professional
pilot training and flexibility for
additional study in aviation management or
other fields. It is designed to prepare
students for employment as professional
pilots and for leadership roles in a variety
of flight operations settings.
The Daniel Webster College
Professional Pilot Education Course consists
of a sequence of required flight practicums,
correlated with associated classroom
courses. Each course is based upon mastery
of critical flying skills, aeronautical
knowledge, and the development and seasoning
of pilot judgment through progressively more
challenging "Line-Oriented Flight Training
(LOFT)" tasks and missions, conducted in a
mix of uniquely capable instructional
aircraft and flight simulators. All training
paths will prepare students for the FAA
Commercial Pilot certificate with Instrument
Rating with options to proceed with the
Multi-engine rating courses and/or training
for the Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
certificate. Many students who culminate
with their CFI seek employment with DWC as a
flight instructor after graduation.
-
You値l
complete your private pilot
certificate your very first
year.
-
You値l
focus on flight dynamics and
human factors of flight, such as
pilot judgment, effective crew
interaction and cockpit resource
management.
-
You値l
develop exceptional professional
judgment and a strong commitment
to safety.
-
Flying four
different types of aircraft
you値l develop your skills
flying under both Visual Flight
Rules (VFR) and Instrument
Flight Rules (IFR) in the
Northeast one of the mose
diverse flight environments in
the world.
- You値l
log many hours of night flying,
cross-country flying, unpowered
flight and training in our
state-of-the-art simulators,
under the watchful eyes of DWC痴
talented Flight Instructors.

Aircraft in the DWC
Fleet
Cessna 172R Skyhawks.
>> This
well-known trainer, the workhorse of the
fleet, has been popular for years with both
students and instructors because of its ease
of handling and maneuverability.
Grob G-109B Motorgliders.
>> DWC is one of
very few collegiate aviation programs that uses
motorgliders as an integral part of its flight
training program. Their use is very beneficial
to the understanding of aerodynamics and the
impact of micrometeorology.
Piper PA-28R "Arrow" Complex Aircraft.
>> These complex
single-engine training aircraft with retractable
gear and a powerful 200-horsepower Lycoming
engine are especially comfortable and fun to
fly. The Arrow is equipped with dual GPS
displays, as well as auto pilot. These aircraft
are known for their exceptional performance
level.
Piper PA-44-180 "Seminole" Multiengine Trainers.
>> These
twin-engine planes are powered by two
180-horsepower Lycoming engines, and provide
unique and vital advanced instrument training
capabilities. They are equipped with advanced
avionics, including: dual GPS displays, auto
pilot and automatic direction finder.
DID YOU KNOW?
Within a one hour flight from Nashua, a student
can be over the Atlantic seacoast, the White
Mountains, Connecticut farmland, or urban
Boston, MA and they are immersed in every
classification of airspace in doing so.
International flight operations to Canada are
also a part of the crew flight training core...
unique to Daniel Webster College
New Hampshire also experiences
all four seasons, adding a critical
understanding of weather to the curriculum. It
is important to know and adapt to weather as a
professional pilot. The real world requires it.
Real skills develop from real situations. DWC
is as real as it gets.
