Leary Named GNAC Second Team All Conference
Nashua -- Freshman outfielder Rob Leary of Litchfield, N.H. was recently
named to the Second Team of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC)
All Conference Team, as selected by the conference coaches.
Appearing in all 26 games this past season and starting 25, Leary led the
Eagles in a number of categories including batting average (.351), slugging
percentage (.500), total hits (26), RBI (tied-12), home runs (3), total
bases (37), and added two doubles and four steals.
Leary selection marks the fifth time an Eagle freshman has been named to an
all conference team and is the first since Nick Culver earned the honor as a
second teamer in 2006.
The Eagles posted a 4-25 overall mark, 2-12 in the GNAC under first year
Head Coach J.P. Pyne.
2008 marked the final season of Eagle baseball in the GNAC. The program
shifts to the newly formed New England Collegiate Conference next season.
