Freedman Deliver Eagles To Comeback Win Over UMPI
- Eagles Rally From Eight Down To Grab Victory -

Nashua, NH – Aaron Freedman’s (Randolph, Mass.) two out single in the bottom of the ninth knocked in the tying and winning runs delivering Daniel Webster a dramatic come-from-behind 11-10 victory over Maine-Presque Isle Friday afternoon at Harvey Woods Field.

Freedman, who came in off the bench in the sixth inning, finished 3 for 3 with three RBI, having also knocked in a run in the sixth, as the Eagles stormed back from deficits of 9-1 in the sixth and 10-3 in the seventh to capture their third win of the season.

Freedman’s dramatics helped make a winner of Joe Tamulonis (Woodstock, N.H.), who evened his record (1-1), allowing four runs on eight hits over the final four innings in relief of starter Rob Leary (Litchfield, N.H.).

Tamulonis, along with Charles Manning (Riverside, R.I.), finished with two hits and a RBI for the Eagles, while David Totman added two RBI.

Shane Dupuis (Trenton, N.S.) sparkled for the visiting Owls (2-7), going 3 for 4 with a triple and five RBI. A.J. Pennartz (Birch Harbor, Maine) added a 3 for 4 outing knocking in two and scoring twice.

Dave deKay (Hiram, Maine) took the loss.

Trailing 10-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh, the Eagles rallied with three in the seventh, three in the eighth and the final two in the ninth off Freedman’s bat.

UMPI scratched for single runs in the first and third and the Eagles added a single score in the second for a 2-1 game heading into the fifth. Dupuis went to work with a three-run triple as part of a four-run Owl fifth, and added a two-run single sparking a three-run sixth as the Owls appeared to take control.

Tamulonis and Freeman notched RBI singles in the bottom of the frame for a 9-3 game.

After a Jeff Ramsell (Pembroke, Maine) RBI double put the Owls up 10-3 in the seventh, the Eagles strung together a four-hit frame, including RBI singles from Freeman and Leary, and a David Totman (Raynham, Mass.) two-run single helped cut the gap to 10-9 in the eighth.

In the ninth, Manning drew a one-out walk. After Caleb Spotts (Trevorton, Penn.) pinch ran, Tamulonis later followed with a two out single and both runners advanced on a fielding error, setting up Freedman’s walk-off winner.

The Eagles get right back into action Saturday as they host cross town rival Rivier in a GNAC doubleheader beginning at Noon.
