(Nashua) – Casey Allen (South Berwick, Maine) and Jared Galm (Kingston, N.Y.) combined to go 8-for-12, knocking in seven runs and Mike Collette went eight solid innings on the mound for his first victory as Daniel Webster downed Maine-Presque Isle, 13-6 at Harvey Woods Field Friday.

The win was the second straight for the Eagles (2-9), who topped the Owls (1-4) yesterday, 18-7.

Allen went 4-for-6 with three doubles and had four RBI, and Galm added a 4-for-6 outing knocking in three. Andrew Storck (Leesburg, Ohio) added two hits including a triple and an RBI, and Dave Shemella (Stone Ridge, N.Y.) added two hits knocking in one.

Collete (1-0) allowed six runs (five earned) on 10 hits over eight innings, striking out five and walking three.

Shane Dupuis (New Glasgow, N.S.) took the loss for the Owls, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on 13 hits over 5 2/3 innings, striking out two and walking two.

The teams combined for nine runs in a wild first inning. The Owls punched home four in the top of the frame keyed by an error, an RBI single from Brian Morrison (New Glasgow, N.S.) and a two run double from Donald Charette (Millinocket, Maine).

The Eagles answered with five runs on six hits in the bottom of the inning including RBI doubles from Allen, Kevin Murphy (New Paltz, N.Y.) and Shemella and an RBI single from Nick Michaud (Windsor Locks, Conn.)

An RBI double from Allan in the second made it 6-4, but UMPI tied it in the third on a Charette two-run double.

The Eagles took the lead for good in the fourth on an RBI single from Allan and Storck’s triple that scored Allan. Allan later doubled in Nick Bayley (Scarborough, Maine) in the sixth for a 9-6 lead.

Jared Galm singled in Shemella for a 10-6 game in the seventh, and the Eagles added three in the eighth aided by three Owl errors and a Galm two-run single.
