Colby-Sawyer Downs Eagles
(Nashua) – Steve Hansen (Southbury, Conn.) went 3-for-5, knocked in two and
scored six times, while Lee Chubet (Arlington, Vt.) and Ben Warnick (S.
Deerfield, Mass.) knocked in four runs each pacing a 22-hit attack as
Colby-Sawyer ran past Daniel Webster, 25-1 Saturday at Harvey Woods Field.
Jarrett Lowe (Sudbury, Mass.) and Chris Hartery (Billerica, Mass.) added
three hits and three RBI each as the Chargers (4-8) scored in all but one
inning.
Justin Sakovitz (Stoneham, Mass.) earned the win on the mound, allowing one
unearned run on just two hits over seven innings, striking out six and
walking one. Vinny Vilardi (Boxford, Mass.) added two hitless innings of
relief.
The Chargers, who had just two extra base hits in the contest, scored three
in the first and third, led 12-1 after six and broke open the game with nine
runs in the seventh.
Jared Galm (0-3) took the loss for the Eagles (2-10).
Casey Allan and Galm registered the Eagle hits.
DWC continues its home stand Sunday hosting Johnson & Wales in a GNAC
season-opening doubleheader at Noon.
