Norwich Takes Both From
Eagles

Nashua, N.H. -- Chris Pybus (North Andover, Mass.) went 3-for-4 including what proved to be a game winning RBI single in the top of the seventh that scored Aaron Ward (Greenwich, N.Y.) as Norwich held on for a 7-6 victory over host Daniel Webster and complete a GNAC sweep Friday afternoon.

The Cadets (5-15, 4-6 GNAC) took the opener, 9-1.

The nightcap victory made a winner of Kyle Przekaza (Northfield, Vt.) who tossed 4 2/3 innings in relief of starter Alex Duplessis (Marlboro, Mass.) allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out four and walking four.

Jordan Kittredge (Barre, Vt.) added two hits and scored once, while James Ramsay (Vestal, N.Y.) and Tim O’Connor (Worcester, Mass.) knocked in single runs.

Shaun Hanson (Durham, N.H.) led the Eagles (4-21, 1-11 GNAC) with a two run double, while Mike Collette added two hits, scored once, and knocked in a run.

Nick Culver (Meriden, Conn.) took the loss (0-2), allowing the go-ahead run on three hits in the seventh. Eagle starter Christal Fitzgerald (Sydney, Australia) went four-plus innings, allowing six runs (five earned) in five hits, walking three.

In the opener, Duplessis and Ward each notched three hits and scored twice and Pybus knocked in two runs in the 9-1 victory.

John Healy (Plymouth, Mass.) went the distance (3-2) tossing a solid two-hitter with no earned runs over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking five.

Casey Allan (South Berwick, Maine) took the loss (1-6), allowing nine runs (three earned), striking out eight and walking five.

Dave Shemella (Stone Ridge, N.Y.) scored the Eagles lone run from third on a throwing error in the fifth.

Norwich built a 2-0 lead after one, tacked on four on four hits in the third including a Pybus two-run double, and the Cadets were aided by two errors.

Daniel Webster hosts Southern Vermont Saturday at Noon, while Norwich travels to Rivier Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in a doubleheader to be played at Alvirne (NH) High School.
