Second Harvey Woods Classic Set For October 6th

Nashua -- The second annual Harvey Woods Fall Baseball Classic will be played Saturday, October 6th on the campus of Daniel Webster at Harvey Woods Field.

The Eagles program, under the direction of Head Coach J.P. Pyne, will host intra-city rival Rivier College in a doubleheader for the day, with the first pitch slated for 12:00 p.m.

“The entire Eagles baseball program is excited to host the Second Annual Harvey Woods Classic,” noted Eagle Head Coach J.P. Pyne. “This day of baseball will allow us to showcase the improvements we have made to our beautiful facility. Hosting Rivier College will allow us to gage our progress against a competitive GNAC opponent and our coaching staff is anxious to get a feel for this great intra-city rivalry.”

Harvey Woods Field was named by DWC trustee and field benefactor Fred Roedel. Mr. Roedel chose to name the field for his mentor and college baseball coach, Harvey Woods, long-serving athletic director and baseball coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

The Eagles won the inaugural classic last September 23rd with a 2-1 record against Rivier and Emerson College.
