The evening also included the announcements of all varsity team awards including most valuable players, most improved players, coaches’ awards, top rookies and other specialty awards.

Horton earned his second consecutive Student-Athlete of the Year honor. The Aviation Flight Operations major is a DWC President’s List honoree, holding a 3.5 grade point average or higher for at least three consecutive semesters and was a member of the College’s All Academic Team. Horton has quickly established himself as the most successful male runner in Eagle cross country history. He earned his second Great Northeast Athletic Conference First Team All Conference honor placing a personal best sixth overall after placing eighth in 2006.

Horton also continued to knock down barriers of success, becoming the first Eagle to earn consecutive qualifications for the NCAA Regional Championship after becoming the first harrier in program history to qualify for the prestigious championship in 2006.

Hunt, a Marketing Management major, was a DWC All Academic Team honoree. A regular starter with the women’s soccer program, Hunt was a key anchor to the Eagle midfielder and backfield over the past two years. She appeared in 11 games in 2007 contributing one goal.

Collette put forth a standout season for the Eagle Men’s Ice Hockey program, finishing with a team best 24 goals and 12 assists for 36 points, accounting for a full 30-percent of Eagle scoring for the season. Collette, who added four power play scores, helped the Eagles post a 9-15-2 overall record including a 5-5-2 mark in Northeast Collegiate Ice Hockey Association (NECHA) play. The Eagles returned to the division championship tournament, finishing as runner up.

There may never be enough words to write about the amazing career of Moseley, who finished her career as the most successful student-athlete in College history. Named captain for both the women’s basketball and softball programs, she earned GNAC women’s basketball third team all-conference accolades and was a second team All State (N.H.) Division III Basketball All Star. She became the first student-athlete in GNAC history to earn all conference honors three times in two different sports, having been a previous three-time all star in women’s volleyball as well.

Moseley, a Sport Management major, became the all time program leading scorer in basketball (men or women) in her final collegiate outing back on February 23rd in a victory over Lasell. Needing 18 points to surpass Arduino’s 1,404 point marker, Moseley easily surpassed the number, registering a game high 25. Moseley capped her career with 1,412 total points with a career average of 15.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. She finished as the seventh player in Great Northeast Athletic Conference history to reach 1,400 points and her 820 total rebounds placed her third all time at DWC and 11th in the GNAC.

Defensively, Moseley’s 141 blocks is first in Eagle history and fifth in the GNAC. She also retires as the all time program leader in total field goals and second in total free throws.

On the season, Moseley finished third in GNAC scoring average and led the team with 16.9 ppg. Her 1.60 blocks per game was fourth best in the league, while her 8.0 rebounds was a team best and 10th in the conference. She also finished third in shooting percentage at 49.2-percent and 13th in free throw shooting (.674). Playing in all 25 games and starting in 20, she hit for double figures in scoring 21 times including nine 20-plus outings and hit for over 30 twice. She also reached double figures in rebounding seven times and registered at least three blocks in a game on eight different occasions.

On the softball field, Moseley posted a program record for wins in a season with a 7-10 mark on the mound including a 4.41 ERA over 19 games. She finished with season record 97 strikeouts and walked 38 over 101 2/3 innings, finishing second all time in program history for strikeouts. At the plate, she hit .287 (25-87) with one home run and a team best 19 RBI.

Sportsmanship Award

Two student-athletes were also honored as recipients of the Eagle Athletics Sportsmanship Award for outstanding service towards the advancement of Eagle athletics.

Junior golfer and baseball outfielder Mike Adams of Randolph, Mass. was the male recipient of the award, while junior women’s basketball player Cara Jameson of Nashua, N.H. was the female recipient.

Adams, a two-sport athlete and Aviation/Air Traffic Management major, competed on the golf course and the baseball diamond in 2007-08. Adams consistently finished among the top three for the Eagles on the links as the program returned to varsity play after a nearly 10-year absence.

Jameson, an Aviation/Air Traffic Management major with a minor in Sports Management, appeared in 11 games for the Eagles averaging just under four minutes per contest contributing a season high four points against Westfield State on January 29th, but made a lasting impression on the program for her dedication, commitment and involvement in the entire athletics program.
