Alex Hill Named Assistant Baseball Coach

The Daniel Webster baseball program has
tabbed Alex Hill to serve as Assistant Coach. The announcement was made
by Eagle Head Coach J.P. Pyne.
“I am extremely happy that Coach Hill will be joining the program. He
possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience that will benefit our
players immediately. Alex is a tireless worker, tremendous recruiter,
and a loyal friend. Alex will be responsible for working with our
pitchers, and I am confident that his impact on the program will be felt
from day one.”

“Coach Pyne and the entire athletic program is committed to creating a
winning program and I’m excited to be part of the process to help build
the Eagle baseball program into one of the best in New England."
A 2000 graduate of Wheaton (Mass.), Hill is a former player with the
Lyons program including playing on the College’s inaugural 1998 team.
Hill will be reunited with Pyne as the two worked together in from
2005-2006 at Saint Anselm, where Pyne served as head coach and Hill was
assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. Hill spent the past season
as pitching coach at Southern New Hampshire University where the Penmen
posted a 2.99 Team ERA, third lowest in the Northeast-10 Conference.
Following graduation from Wheaton where he earned a degree in American
Studies, Hill spent two seasons as assistant coach at Westfield State.
This past summer, he served as assistant coach with the Lowell All
Americans of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
Hill was heavily involved with the popular Top 96 Showcases for six
years, and spent two summers as an assistant with the New England
Lightning AAU organization. He has served as an instructor at the Eric
Wedge Hitting Camps and Strike One Baseball Camps. In addition, Hill has
worked at several professional tryout camps for the San Diego Padres.
Hill served as teacher and athletic director at Nativity Prep in New
Bedford, Mass., from 2000-2002. Hill recently completed a master’s
degree in sport management from Southern New Hampshire University. He
resides in South Lawrence, Mass., with his wife Leah.
