Lambrou Named Head Volleyball Coach

Tammy Lambrou of Manchester, N.H. has been named Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Daniel Webster College (DWC). Lambrou’s appointment was announced by DWC Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs for Athletics Phil Rowe.

“Tammy brings a complete package to our athletics program,” noted Rowe. “She is a true teacher and student of the game. The energy and dedication she brings to the sport is boundless and we look forward to more of the same as we look to build our program into an annual challenger in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.”

Lambrou inherits a program that posted a best ever 9-9 overall record and 3-8 mark in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play last season, missing the GNAC post-season tournament by just one game. Lambrou can look to the anticipated return of 10 letter winners including senior middle hitter Erin Mosely (Sterling, Mass.), who was a First Team All Conference selection in 2005, the first Eagle to ever earn that award, and who finished as the NCAA Division III leader in service aces per game.

Lambrou is a 2000 graduate of Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) where she earned a degree in Sport Management and was a three year letter winner with the Penmen program. Since 1995, she has served as Head Volleyball Coach with New Hampshire Hard Rock Volleyball.

Lambrou also serves as head coach of the varsity volleyball program at Merrimack High School, a position she will retain with her DWC appointment. She was also recently named the head coach of the New Hampshire Junior Olympic 18-under team. Previously, Lambrou spent four years as Head Coach of the volleyball program at Epping High School.

“I am excited to join the DWC staff,” said Lambrou. “The College has been very welcoming and is as committed to excellence in both academics and athletics as I am. I plan to continue to build the volleyball program through recruiting efforts and look forward to creating more success in our conference. I also hope to build more awareness about all that DWC has to offer to students not only in this area but also outside of New England.”

Lambrou, who also serves as a Paraprofessional at Southside Middle School in Manchester, is currently completing a Masters of Business Education degree at SNHU.
