The New Eagle Has Landed: DWC Unveils New
Athletics Logos
The Daniel Webster College (DWC) Department of Athletics has recreated its
official athletics image with the unveiling of a new athletics logo. The
announcement and unveiling of the new logo was made by DWC Assistant
Vice President of Student Affairs for Athletics Phil Rowe. The logos
will be utilized beginning with the 2006 Fall season.
“As
part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the department of athletics here
at DWC, I am pleased to offer our student-athletes, alumni, fans and
friends of the college a more identifiable athletics brand with these
new logos," said Rowe. "We feel this will allow our athletics program to create a
more readily identifiable brand as well as enhance marketing and
merchandising opportunities both on the campus and off.”
The Eagles’ new primary logo features a streamlined athletic text
sporting “Eagles” in large white text with a blue and black border.
“Daniel Webster,” in blue and smaller, is imbedded within the Eagles
text. The silhouette of a red eagle with wings outstretched and talons
extended hovers in the background, while individual red and blue swishes
appear behind the eagle and the text.
The secondary
logo contains the same “Eagles” text with accompanying swish, but
removes the eagle silhouette. A third and final logo features a large
“D” and “W” which vary between solid red and solid blue.
The logos are the product of an in-house design of Associate Director
for Marketing Ryan Keough, a 2001 graduate of DWC with a degree in
Aviation Management.
All three logos are attached and are also available through the Daniel
Webster College athletics website at www.dwc.edu/athletics.
