Inge Honored By DWC With Distinguished Service Award

(Nashua, N.H.) – Daniel Webster College (DWC) men’s basketball junior Brian Inge continues to make an impact not only on the court but off it as he was recently recognized by his peers with the DWC “Distinguished Service Award.”

Inge, a junior guard and Fort Washington, Md. native, was recognized for being one of the most active members in the College for his community service which included taking part in the Eagle Basketball “Walk for Joey”, and the Nashua Walk for Breast Cancer. Inge also assisted with Central Massachusetts preseason youth basketball clinics, read to local grammar school children each week, and has been an integral member of the Nashua Nighthawk Youth Basketball program.

“Brian Inge represents what Daniel Webster Basketball is about and we are extremely proud of his recognition through this award,” noted Eagle Head Men’s Basketball Coach Jeremy Currier. “Brian carries a 3.1 grade point average, excels on the court, and is as charitable and respectful of a young man as you can find. I am honored the Daniel Webster College would notice one of the members of our basketball team, and thrilled that the committee chose Brian.”

Inge, who was named the GNAC Rookie of the Week on December 18 and to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll December 5th, was the teams’ third leading scorer this past season at with 11.4 points per game. Currier sees Inge as a building block as program moves towards becoming one of the most competitive teams in the region. “Brian is a tremendous talent, teammate, and leader. He is the type of student athlete that we want to recruit to Daniel Webster College - a winner on and off the court.”
