Inge Honored As GNAC Rookie Of The Week
(Nashua, N.H.) –
Make it four in a row for Rookie Awards for the Daniel Webster men’s
basketball program.
Newcomer Brian Inge, a shooting guard from Fort Washington, Md. has been
named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week. It marks
the fourth straight week an Eagle player has earned the honor with all four
honors bestowed upon different members.
Inge posted a team best 17 points and added seven rebounds in Daniel
Webster’s 88-52 loss to Ivy league host Dartmouth College this past Saturday
night. Inge knocked down 7-of-19 from the floor include two three pointers
and added a free throw. The meeting with Dartmouth marked the first regular
season meeting for the entire Eagle athletics program against a Division I
opponent in the College’s history.
Inge, who was also named the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll on December 5th, leads
the squad in both scoring and rebounding with 13.6 points and 5.6 rebounds
per game. Inge has hit for double figures in scoring in six of his seven
games including a season best 23 in an 80-75 home win over Anna Maria on
November 27th.
Along with Inge, newcomer Tim Jackson was named recipient of the award
December 11th,
Arjok Guguai was named to the honor December 4th, and Chris Hanson earned
the honor November 22nd.
The Eagles, 3-4 overall and 1-1 in GNAC play under the direction of first
year Head Coach Jeremy Currier, return to action January 8th when they host
Emmanuel in a 7:00 p.m. GNAC matchup.
