Eagles' Chris Hanson Earns GNAC Rookie of the Week Honors

(Nashua, N.H.) – Freshman shooting guard Chris Hanson of Salem, Mass. has been named as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference men’s basketball Co Rookie of the Week as announced by the GNAC conference office.

Hanson averaged 19 points, shooting 15 of 32 from the field and 8 of 22 from the three point line and added 8.5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in the Eagle’s 1-1 showing at the season opening Best Western Tip Off at Daniel Webster last weekend.

Hanson knocked down a game high 29 points, going 11 of 17 from the field and nailed 7 of 10 three point attempts, pulled down nine rebounds (5 offensive) in a 112-100 consolation win over Centenary College of New Jersey and had nine points and eight boards in a 93-83 loss to Green Mountain in the tourney opener.

The Eagles, 1-2 overall under the direction of first year Head Coach Jeremy Currier, return to action Tuesday, November 27 when they host Anna Maria in non conference action at 8:00 p.m.
