Box Score

Japhet Kerr (Mt. Kisco, N.Y.) notched a game high 23 points and Darren Faust (Queens, N.Y.) added 19 as Johnson & Wales topped Daniel Webster, 84-62 in a GNAC matchup Saturday afternoon at Vagge Gymnasium.

Ray McKie (Bronx, N.Y.) led the Eagles (4-10, 2-6 GNAC) with 18 points, while Jamie Bryant (Hartford, Conn.) added 12. Warren Wiggins added a double double of 11 points and 10 rebounds and added three blocks, while Tyler Smith (Moultonborough, N.H.) scored 11.

Tirone McCray (Brockton, Mass.) also reached double figures for the Wildcats (5-12, 3-5 GNAC) with 13 and grabbed seven rebounds.

The Eagles led by as many as six in the early going, but Johnson & Wales slowly chipped away and eventually took the lead for good on a Kerr three-pointer with 7:15 to go in the first for a 31-29 lead. The Wildcats built the lead to nine and led 44-35 at the break.

Johnson & Wales heated up out of the gate in the second, opening the frame with a 15-3 run which included five points from Faust and four points from McCray to build a 21- point lead and the Eagles never pulled closer than 13 the rest of the way.

Daniel Webster returns to action Monday when they visit Emmanuel for a 5:30 p.m. GNAC game.
