Stevens, Van Tuyl Close Careers With All Conference Honors

Nashua – Two members of the Daniel Webster men’s lacrosse backfield have been recently honored with Second Team All Conference selections by the North Atlantic Conference.

Seniors Craig VanTuyl of East Aurora, N.Y. and Mike Stevens of Cortland, N.Y. earned the honors in a recent vote of conference coaches. It is the third straight year Stevens has earned an all conference selection, while the award was the second straight for VanTuyl. Both were second team All Conference selections last season.

Stevens retires as the most decorated Eagle in program history as he is the first Eagle to earn three successive all conference awards, while Van Tuyl is the fourth Eagle in program history to become an two-time conference all star.

Stevens started all 11 games for the Eagles, finishing with 36 groundballs and registered one goal in an 11-2 victory over Lyndon State on April 11th.

VanTuyl was also an 11-game starter finishing with 37 grounders and added one assist.

The two were part of a team defense that helped post a team goals against average of 8.45.

Under the direction of first year Head Coach Jon Ingram, the Eagles posted a 3-8 overall record.
