Manning, Abrahamson Power Eagles Past Hornets, 11-2
Nashua - Brian Abrahamson (Dedham, Mass.) notched three goals and set up
five others and Ryan Manning (Newport, N.H.) added four scores leading host
Daniel Webster past Lyndon State, 11-2 in men’s lacrosse action Friday at
Eagle Field.
Dana Boudreau (Chelmsford, Mass.) added a goal and assist and Chris Leyland
(New Hope, Penn.) made eight saves in goal as the Eagles (2-4) halted a
three-game slide and handed the Hornets (1-4) their third straight loss.
The Eagles never trailed, building a 3-1 lead after one quarter and took
control with a five-goal second to lead 8-1 at the half.
Mike Jordan (Wakefield, Mass.), Zach Horchar (Balto, Md.) and Mike Stevens
(Cortland, N.Y.) added single tallies for Daniel Webster.
Craig Salvagno (Trumbull, Conn.) notched a goal and assist for Lyndon State,
while Sean Moore (Burlington, Vt.) added a score.
The Eagles score the first three goals of the game with Jordan opening up
with the first 2:17 into the contest, while Abrahamson followed 40 seconds
later and Horchar made it 3-0 at the 4:46 mark.
Salvagno notched an extra man score with 8:13 to go in the first before
Abrahamson and Manning went to work, figuring in on each of the five second
quarter goals with Manning netting three and Abrahamson notching two.
Manning notched his fourth 39 seconds into the third for a 9-1 game and
Boudreau followed 1:14 later for a 10-1 lead.
Moore added his score with 22 seconds to go in the half.
Stevens, an all conference performer as a defender, closed out the scoring
with an end-to-end run from the backfield, burying a 20 yarder for his first
of the season and first since the 2006 season.
The Eagles get right back to action Saturday as they host Mitchell at 2:00
p.m. Lyndon hosts Johnson State Monday at 4:00 p.m.
