Early Power Surge Sets Tone As Eagles Top Mitchell, 15-8
Nashua, NH – Brian Abrahamson (Dedham, Mass.) notched six goals and four
assists, and Ryan Manning (Newport, N.H.) added four goals and five assists,
leading host Daniel Webster past Mitchell, 15-8 in men’s lacrosse action
Saturday.
Dan Boudreau (Chelmsford, Mass.) added three goals and an assist as the
Eagles (3-4) won their second game in as many days.
Abrahamson continued his offensive eruption of late after a four-goal, five
assist outing Friday against Lyndon State. Manning has added four goals the
day before.
Cullen Larkin (Bedford, N.H.) added two scores for the Eagles, while Chris
Leyland made six saves in goal.
Jeff Dineen (Redding, Conn.) led the Pequots (1-5), who dropped their fourth
straight, with three goals and two assists, while Ryan LaPak (Norwalk,
Conn.) added two scores. Jeff Crettella (North Haven, Conn.) sparkled in
goal, finishing with 24 saves.
The Eagles came out firing, building an 8-2 lead after one quarter keyed by
four from Abrahamson, and held an 11-3 lead at the half, before the Pequots
rallied with five third quarter scores to make a game of it, and trailed
13-8 after three.
But two quick strikes from Abrahamson and Manning 13 seconds apart early in
the fourth regained control for the Eagles.
DWC finished with important advantages in shots on goal (39-14), groundballs
(25-22) and a decisive win in face offs (18-6). DWC also held Mitchell to 1
for 5 on the power play.
The Eagles are off Sunday and return to action Monday hosting Norwich at
4:00 p.m.
