Eagles Capture Fourth Straight, Down Mitchell 13-3

(New London, Conn.) – Brandon Bell (Durham, N.H.) erupted for six goals and added an assist, while Brian Abrahamson (Dedham, Mass.) added two goals and set up five others to lead Daniel Webster past host Mitchell, 13-3 Monday afternoon.

The win was the fourth straight for the surging Eagles (4-2), while the Pequots (0-5) remained winless.

Ryan Manning (Newport, N.H.) added three scores and an assist, and Dan Boudreau (Chelmsford, Mass.) chipped in with goal and assist.

Adam McKellar (Biddeford, Maine) finished with six saves in goal.

DWC outshot the Pequots 44-10 overall and had an overwhelming advantage in ground balls (70-33).

The Eagles never trailed, scoring three times over the first 3:24 of the game with goals from Abrahamson and two from Manning. A Zach Ledvina score put Mitchell on the board 4:46 in, but Bell answered with scores at the 6:15 and 2:12 mark for a 5-1 lead.

Bell added a natural hat trick in the span of just 1:56 in the second quarter to give the Eagles an 8-2 lead at the half.

Bell notched his fourth straight with 4:38 left in the third and Manning completed his hat trick with 1:18 to go in the frame for 10-2 advantage.

The Eagles return to action Wednesday as they travel to Castleton for a key North Atlantic Conference match up beginning at 4:00 p.m.
