Bell Named NAC Player Of Week, McKellar

(Nashua) –
A pair of Eagle men’s lacrosse student-athletes have been honored by the
North Atlantic Conference (NAC).
Sophomore attack Brandon Bell of Loudon, N.H. has been named the NAC “Player
of the Week” and freshman goalkeeper Adam McKellar of Biddeford, Maine has
been named the NAC “Rookie of the Week” for their efforts in the Eagles past
2-0 week against NAC opponents. The announcements were made by the NAC
conference office.
Bell notched nine goals and two assists for 11 points (4.5 gpg) and averaged
8.0 groundballs last week as the Eagles topped Johnson State and Emerson.
Bell racked up a game-high five goals, two assists and seven groundballs in
the Eagles 8-2 win over Johnson State and followed with a game-high four
goals and nine groundballs in a 9-6 victory at Emerson.
Bell is currently tied with two others for the league lead in points per
game average with season totals of 13 goals and three assists for 16 points
(4.0 ppg) over four contests.
Meanwhile, McKellar sparkled in goal, posting a 4.00 goals against average
and .771 save percentage over 120 minutes in backstopping both victories.
McKellar posted 18 saves and pulled in three groundballs in the Eagles 8-2
win over the Badgers, and followed with nine saves in the 9-6 win over the
Lions.
Under the tutelage of 2006 NAC “Coach of the Year” Tim Lunn, the Eagles
stand 2-2 overall and alone in first place in conference play with a 2-0 record.
The Eagles return to action this coming Wednesday with a pivotal early
season contest at NAC rival Maine Maritime (2-2, 1-1 NAC). The game kicks
off at 3:00 p.m. in Castine, Maine.
