Eagles Top Regis For Second Straight, 2-0
Weston, Mass. - Andrew Donovan (Milford, N.H.) notched the eventual
difference-maker while Chris Leyland (New Hope, Penn.) added to his hot hand
of late, guiding the Daniel Webster College men’s soccer team to its second
straight 2-0 shutout, downing host Regis College Monday afternoon.
The win was the second straight for the Eagles (2-3) after a 0-3 start,
while Regis dropped to 0-7 overall.
The game was a scoreless affair until Donovan headed home a nifty Oscar
Borjesson (Stockholm, Sweden) cross pass in the 73rd minute.
Leyland iced the contest, knocking home his third goal in two games for a
2-0 lead with 6:51 remaining off an Alex Jackson (Kent, Ohio) feed.
The Eagles controlled the tempo throughout with 17 total shots to three for
the Pride, including a 15-1 shots on goal advantage
Joe Keene (Bristol, N.H.) earned the win in goal for Daniel Webster.
The Eagles return to action Wednesday when they visit Suffolk University for
a 4:00 p.m. matchup.
