Three Straight As Eagles Top Suffolk, 2-1

Boston, Mass. -- Freshman Alex Jackson and junior Michael Lohr notched first half goals and a 2-1 lead stood up throughout the second half as the Daniel Webster College men’s soccer squad won its third straight and evened its record on the season with a 2-1 victory at Suffolk University Wednesday.

The win pulled the Eagles up to .500 after a 0-3 start as they improved to 3-3 overall, while the host Rams fell to 1-5.

Joe Keene made three saves in goal for the Eagles in the victory. DWC outshot the rams 16-13 overall and 9-4 on goal.

Jackson got the Eagles going popping home a rebound in front with 20:14 remaining in the first half.

Christian Palacios tied it off a Stephen Gaudet feed in the 35th minute and the teams looked fit to be tied at the half, but Lohr stole a defensive pass deep in the Rams zone and drilled the eventual game winner with 1:54 remaining in the period.

The Eagles look to jump over the .500 mark this coming Saturday when they host Mitchell College in a NECC matchup at 3:00 p.m.
