Emerson Shuts Out Eagles, 6-0

Boston - Tonight in men's soccer the Emerson Lions defeated Daniel Webster
College 6-0 at Rotch Field.
At 17:51 Eric Dabdoub (So., Monterrey, Mexico) opened the scoring for
Emerson with a goal on a direct kick. Joshua Watkinson (Jr., Rochester, N.H.)
extended the Lion’s dominance with a goal in the last minute of the half,
off an assist from Casey Shane (Jr., New York, N.Y.).
Shane scored two goals at 51:25 and 68:43. The first came off an assist from
Mike Giles (So., Wakefield, R.I.). Eagles’ goalkeeper Fred Jacobs (Jr.,
Wrentham, Mass.) dove to the ground defending the net on both occasions.
Ken Nikravesh (Fr., Geneva, Switzerland.) scored his first goal as a Lion
with a header off a corner kick from Shane at 71:45. Three minutes later
Byron Colborn (Sr., Davis, Calif.) took an assist from Sean Batson (Jr.,
Boulder, Colo.) for a goal from the right side to the lower middle of the
net.
Emerson dominated game play. The Lions took 19 shots with 13 on goal. The
Eagles took six shots, only three on goal.
Goalkeeper Nick Strauss (So., Norwood, Mass.) saved all three of the shots
taken on his net.
Jacobs saved seven goals for the Eagles.
Daniel Webster returns to action Thursday as they host Mitchell College in
an important NECC matchup beginning at 3:30 p.m.
