Cadets Ground Eagles in GNAC Opener, 3-0

Rob Harlow (West Springfield, Mass.) notched goal and assist to lead visiting Norwich past Daniel Webster, 3-0 in each team’s GNAC men’s soccer opener Saturday.

Bobby Begin (Hardwick, Mass.) and Peter Andrews (St. Albans, Vt.) added single scores as the Cadets (1-2-1 / 1-0 GNAC) notched their first victory of the season.

Jake Pagragan (Richland, Ind.) notched five saves in goal for Norwich, while Craig Van Tuyl (Buffalo, N.Y.) added eight for the Eagles (0-2).

Harlow put the Cadets ahead taking a pass from Emmanuel Bol (Winooski, Vt.) 20:03 into the contest and Begin doubled the lead in the 52nd minute heading in a Harlow corner kick. Andrews closed out the scoring in the 72nd, blasting a 30-yarder from the right side.

Norwich finished with an 18-6 shots on goal advantage.

DWC returns to action Monday as the Eagles host Lesley University at 3:30 p.m. Norwich hosts Elms Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
